Indigenous Culture & Nature Day – Journey to Tungueka

Ancestral wisdom, river magic, and cultural immersion.

Duration: Full Day
Departure: Minca Church, 8:30 AM - Return 5:30 PM
Group Size: 2–6 people

This full-day experience takes you beyond sightseeing into a living connection with the Kogui community of Tungueka, located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Designed for travelers who seek authenticity, respect and a deeper understanding of Colombia’s ancestral cultures.

We depart from Minca at 8:30 AM in a 4x4 vehicle and journey north along the Caribbean highway, crossing through lush landscapes until reaching the Kogui village. There, guided by local elders and a bilingual cultural interpreter, you’ll be introduced to the worldview, rituals and rhythms of this sacred territory.

The experience includes a traditional lunch, a short interpretive walk, quiet moments by the river, and free time to enjoy the nearby beach before returning at 5:00 PM. Group sizes are kept small for intimacy and respect.
